About

As Cascadian Data's founder and lead data engineer, Evan Frisch brings a distinctive background and approach to taming data challenges. The son of an educator and an engineer, Evan finds that designing solutions to the unique set of data challenges facing school districts is where his strengths and passions converge. He has two decades of experience solving problems from diverse perspectives as a database specialist, web application developer, technology manager, and data analyst.Evan served as the database administrator for Ankeny Schools for about four years and has provided data solutions as a consultant to other school districts, supporting technology directors such as Jason Kurth in Southeast Polk and Brian Abeling in West Des Moines. He has also served the Seattle Public Schools. In addition to technology directors, he has supported curriculum, nutrition, transportation, and other directors, as well as associate superintendents and principals, among other district leaders and staff.Evan earned his master's degree in information systems management from Carnegie Mellon University, specializing in strategic information processing. He also received degrees from Yale and Cornell. In 2017, he completed additional training at the NYC Data Science Academy.
